The first ESG and China Medical Device Development Forum, jointly organized by the China Medical Device Industry Association, the Smart and Mobile Medical Branch of the China Medical Device Industry Association, the Medical Software Branch of the China Medical Device Industry Association, and Reed Sinopharm, was successfully held in Shenzhen on October 28th. This forum is hosted by the ESG Special Working Group of the China Medical Device Industry Association, with support from the National Health Commission's People's Health Television Channel (CHTV), China Medical Device Information Magazine, Medical Device Innovation Network, and Device Home. This is the first public event in the industry to focus on ESG themes.
 
 
In the opening speech, Dr. Guan Yan, Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the ESG Special Working Group of the China Medical Device Industry Association, clarified that the theme of this forum is "Exploring how ESG affects and promotes the development of the Chinese medical device industry", and pointed out that the work content of the working group is to focus on the forefront and future of ESG and Chinese medical device enterprises, promote the construction of a Chinese characteristic ESG system, and gradually become a consensus for the high-quality development of Chinese medical device enterprises, Promote sustainable development of the industry.
 
 
The first speaker of the forum is Dr. Fang Jun, Chief Expert of Decision Consulting at the China Association for Science and Technology. He is also the Chief Expert of the Working Group and Director of the People's Health Television Channel of the National Health Commission. He conducted a profound analysis of ESG from the same dimension of health and pointed out that practicing the ESG concept is a long and arduous task. In addition, he pointed out that national media have the responsibility and obligation to promote the healthy development of ESG in medical devices in China.
 
 
Subsequently, Wang Zaijun, Executive Deputy Secretary General of the Compliance Management Professional Committee of the Chemical Pharmaceutical Industry Association, gave a keynote speech titled "Compliance is the Foundation of High Quality ESG Development in the Medical and Health Industry." He conducted a detailed analysis of the relatively serious problems encountered in the current pharmaceutical industry and pointed out that compliance is a firm foundation for the high-quality development of ESG in the medical and health industry。
 
 
At this meeting, Yu Chang, the Industry Director of Life Sciences at Amazon Cloud Technology, introduced Amazon's years of practical cases in ESG; Fan Mingjie, Deputy General Manager and Government Affairs Director of Abbott (Beijing) Medical Technology Co., Ltd., shared Abbott's rich experience in ESG work as a specialized and innovative listed company; Li Qin, an accredited lecturer from the Global Reporting Initiative organization GRI and project manager of SGS, also gave a keynote speech on "ESG Management Practices in the Medical Device Industry.".
 







 
The smooth holding of this conference not only created a favorable atmosphere for the development of the ESG industry, but also played a huge role in building an exchange platform for ESG work in the Chinese medical device industry and promoting the construction of ESG concepts.
